Job Summary:
A Remodeling Specialist performs skilled work in residential home remodeling projects. This role requires expertise in specific trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, masonry, and/or HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning). Remodeling Specialist is responsible for ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction and Maintenance:
- Perform tasks related to the construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of residential homes according to trade expertise.
- Follow blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals to complete projects accurately
and efficiently.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct inspections of equipment and structures to identify and correct hazards or
deficiencies.
Problem Solving:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues within the scope of the trade.
- Implement effective solutions to repair or improve systems and structures.
Material and Equipment Management:
- Select and procure appropriate materials and tools for projects.
- Maintain and repair tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working
condition.
Collaboration:
- Work alongside other remodeling professionals to complete projects.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members to ensure project requirements are met.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or technical training in a specific trade.
- Proven experience as a tradesperson in the relevant trade.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools relevant to the trade.
- Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent physical stamina and dexterity.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Valid certification or license in the specific trade, as required by local regulations.
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
Work Environment:
- The role involves working in residential homes
- Exposure to loud noise, hazardous materials, and adverse weather conditions is
common. - Requires physical labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
Compensation:
- Starting wage: $20/hour
- Benefits package including health insurance and paid time off.
